Meagan Chaney's Art at the Appleton Museum

Recently we met up with Meagan Chaney, a very talented local artist, at the Appleton Museum for a portraiture and art installation/exhibit shoot with some of her fantastic ceramic sculpture pieces. These are just a few of our favorites from "Urban Bloom"! The exhibit will run from June 5 - July 5 at the Appleton Museum in Ocala.

Randi & David: Ocala Wedding Photography [ sneak peek ]

Saturday we were in downtown Ocala at historic First Presbyterian Church for Randi and David's wedding. The happy couple was married beneath ornate stained glass windows and lush greenery. Their wedding was a gorgeous celebration of love and highlighted David's service to our country with a traditional military send off.

Randi and David's wedding reception at the Webber Center was filled with dancing and karaoke. David started with his rendition of "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin". (Just think of Tom Cruise in Top Gun.)

Randi got in on the singing too!

Randi had a Star Trek groom's cake made as a surprise for her new husband.

As the evening came to a close, I gave David my camera for an impromptu photoshoot of his new wife. This last picture is one of David's own!

Thanks Randi and David for including us in your wedding. We were honored to be a part of it. And thank you David for your bravery and service to our country!

Naz & Edward: Golden Ocala Wedding Photography [ sneak peek ]

This past Sunday we had the opportunity to spend the day with Naz & Edward at their beautiful Golden Ocala wedding. (You may remember Naz and Edward from their engagement session in St. Augustine.) The grounds and building were full of unique places to use as backdrops for the bride and groom's wedding photography. From the exquisite pink bouquets to the elegant ribbon and crystal adorned cake, every detail fell into place for their big day. Both Naz & Edward were calm and confident in front of camera, just as natural as during their engagement portrait.

Dersch Family: Ocala Portrait Photography [ sneak peek ]

Saturday I met the Dersch family at Shalom Park in Ocala for their second family portrait with us. They are always a fun group to work with, and they really enjoy being all together!

Marcus & Tammy Wedding Photography [ sneak peek ]

This past weekend we had the privilege to travel to Greenville, North Carolina for Tammy and Marcus’ wedding. This wedding was a special event for us personally because of our connection with Tammy. Her sister, Carrie, married one of my college roommates, Ryan, and they are dear friends of ours. Emotions ran high throughout the day because Ryan, Carrie, and their two precious little girls moved to Japan just days after the ceremony. I also had the opportunity to have my other college roommate, Ish, drive down from VA to be my assistant for the day. Ish is a wedding videographer in Lynchburg, VA. It was great to have another creative mind the the team and see him transition into still photography for the day.

We arrived early on Friday to make time for a carefree engagement session. It was the perfect time to get all of Tammy & Marcus' jitters out before the big day. Then, we were off to the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.

On Saturday we had a slight change of plans when we were unable to travel to an additional location for the bridal portraits due to time limitations, so I decided to take a quick walk around the church to see if there would be any suitable locations for a few outdoor shots. As I turned the corner to the back of the church, I was thrilled to see a dramatic, large field filled with yellow wild flowers. We wound up spending most to our allotted time with Tammy in the natural beauty of the field behind the church. I could not have asked for a more charming location for pictures.

Tammy was graceful and composed; she took every moment in and truly enjoyed her wedding day.

Marcus was in his element with his groomsmen!

Naz & Edward Destination Engagement Portrait Photography [ sneak peek ]

Monday, I drove to historic downtown St. Augustine for Naz and Edward's picturesque destination engagement portrait. The weather was gorgeous, and the couple, just stunning, as they held back the excitement for their upcoming June wedding. Both were extremely natural in front of the camera, and the session went along with little direction needed.

We scheduled an extended session to make time for multiple location and wardrobe changes. This allowed us to walk around downtown St. Augustine and find several great unique spots.




I fell in love with this doorway as we walked along historic St George Street....I was shooting from the street and had to dodge cars between shots.



We finished the session at Castillo de San Marcos, despite dogging little crabs in the walls Naz and Edward finished out the day with these amazing shots!
